It carries the Mustang name, it’s an SUV, and it’s fully electric. That’s the 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E. Ford is targeting both the high-performance crowd and those who want practicality.

Introducing the 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E

Performance

Even the base model, equipped with a 73-kWh battery pack and rear-wheel drive, offers 264 horsepower, 387 lb-ft of torque, and a 5.6-second 0 to 60 time. At the top end, the Mach-E GT and Rally pack 480 horsepower and up to 700 lb-ft of torque, reaching 60 mph in just 3.3 seconds. For comparison, the 5.0-liter Mustang Dark Horse does it in 3.7 seconds.

Range

This depends on how you spec the battery and drivetrain. A combination of standard-range battery and rear-wheel drive gives you 240 miles. Swap in the extended-range(88 kWh) battery and keep AWD, and you’re at 300 miles. Go for the extended-range unit and let just the rear wheels handle it, and you’ll squeeze out the maximum 320 miles.

The Mach-E GT and Rally both come fixed with extended-range batteries and AWD. The former achieves 280 miles, while the latter reaches 265.

Charging

The mobile charger that comes with every Mach-E can add approximately 30 miles overnight using a regular 120-volt outlet. A 240-volt outlet, on the other hand, can recharge the battery up to 80% by morning. Ford also offers a much stronger home charger that requires professional installation. This adds around 28 miles of range for per hour.

Drive Modes

There are six drive modes, but you’ll only really encounter three: Whisper, Engage, and Unbridle. These are available across the board and cover your main needs: Whisper for slippery roads, Engage as the reliable daily default, and Unbridle for performance.

The other three include two special modes, one each for the GT and the Rally. The last mode, 1-Pedal Drive, is available on all models and maximizes regenerative braking.

Comfort and Storage

Ford shaped the Mach-E to capture Mustang style while still packing enough room inside to work as a proper family car. It walks that line well. Thanks to the flat floor, there’s good legroom for all five passengers. Standard and optional features include customizable ambient lighting, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, wireless charging, a big glass roof, and a front trunk you can use as a cooler.

Around the cabin, storage is well-thought-out and extensive. There are two-level center trays, a deep bin, and multiple cupholders. Behind the rear seats, the cargo bay provides 29 cubic feet of space.

The 2025 Mach-E rolls performance and speed into one. If that sounds like what you need, stop by Suntrup Ford Kirkwood in Kirkwood, MO, for a test drive.
